Spring 2026 AEC registration is OPEN and closes on January 9th!
Our Afternoon Enrichment Classes (AEC) are filled with unique opportunities for Villagers ages 8 and older to engage in exciting extracurricular activities. These volunteer-led classes switch up every semester, with something that’s sure to excite every Villager’s interests and talents.

This art class is taught by High Point’s very own art teacher, Isabel Luna. She is currently pursuing her degree in art therapy at Texas Tech University. Your Villager will be able to learn age-appropriate art skills while experimenting with colors, textures, and different materials. Whether your Villager loves to doodle or create something brand new, this class is all about having fun, making friends, and discovering the joy of art.

Music Enrichment invites Villagers to explore rhythm, melody, and creative expression through singing, instruments, and interactive musical activities. This joyful class builds confidence, coordination, and communication skills while fostering a love for music in a fun, supportive environment. Let the music inspire and uplift!

Dance Abilities is a joyful, inclusive movement class designed specifically for Villagers to explore creative expression through dance. Taught by professional instructors from Ballet Lubbock, this program celebrates every individual’s strengths while building confidence, coordination, and community. Each class blends music, rhythm, and guided movement in a supportive environment where all participants can shine. Whether seated or standing, every Villager is encouraged to move at their own pace, discover new ways to express themselves, and experience the empowering joy of dance.

We invite you into a fun, hands-on kitchen experience where creativity and confidence come to life. Guided by supportive instructors, participants learn essential skills like measuring, mixing, chopping, and baking—always with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and independence. Each session features delicious, approachable recipes that allow Villagers to explore new flavors, practice real-world kitchen techniques, and enjoy the satisfaction of creating something from scratch. From sweet treats to savory favorites, every dish is an opportunity to build skills, try something new, and share great food with friends.
This high-energy class brings teamwork and excitement together in an inclusive, upbeat environment. Villagers get to stay active while exploring a variety of sports, games, and movement-based activities designed for all abilities. With lots of laughter, encouragement, and high-fives, Sports & Fun is the perfect place for Villagers to stay active, make friends, and discover the joy of movement. Let the fun begin!

We welcome you to a space where Villagers come together to explore stories, share ideas, and build a love for reading. Each session invites participants to dive into a selected book, discuss themes and characters, and express their thoughts in a supportive group setting. The cost of the class includes a workbook and a hard copy of the reading material, ensuring every Villager can follow along, participate fully, and keep their materials long after the class ends. Guided activities in the workbook help strengthen comprehension, spark conversation, and encourage personal reflection.

Super Skills is a dynamic, developmentally supportive class designed to help Villagers build confidence and independence in everyday life. Taught by occupational therapy doctorate students, each session offers engaging, hands-on lessons tailored to meet participants right where they are. This class focuses on essential, real-world skills—including personal hygiene routines, practical life skills, and effective conversational and social communication strategies. Through structured activities, role-playing, and interactive learning, Villagers gain tools they can use at home, in the community, and in social settings. It’s all about building independence, strengthening confidence, and having fun while learning skills that truly matter.

Meaningful Movement is a high-energy, confidence-building class that blends the best of dance, cheer, and gymnastics into one exciting experience. Designed to help Villagers stay active while expressing themselves creatively, each session is filled with upbeat music, coordinated routines, and engaging movement activities. Participants learn basic skills from all three disciplines—simple choreography, beginner cheer motions, rhythm and balance exercises, and foundational gymnastics movements—all adapted to be fun, safe, and accessible for all abilities. The class emphasizes teamwork, encouragement, and personal achievement, allowing every Villager to shine at their own pace.
